The most possible way this planet would end completely is if our sun ran out of fuel, therefore turning cold. This would cause people on this planet to freeze to death.
Or the sun would explode violently, ending our planet in the quickest way possible. (Unlikely, but still possible)
But lets be honest, this isn't until a 5,000,000,000 years or so.

BUT! Just for fun,
1. Nukes/World War 3
2. Terrorists overthrowing the government.
3. Natural disasters become extreme disasters
4. Supplies run out
5. Oxygen runs out and people can't poop. (EDIT: People can't breath. Stupid autocorrect.)
6. The sun dies and collapses on itself becoming a black hole or a supernova.
7. Earth Quakes that split the earth in half.
8. Astroids/meteorites fall down and kill people.
10. Moon makes tides too high and starts flooding everything.

Haha! Rev, as in, a car rev'ing! Nice one, Adam! I'm dying right now.
But anyway, I would say that one of the aforementioned reasons could possibly be true: The Sun using up all of it's Hydrogen and thus burning out/exploding, leaving everyone to freeze to death. Lucky for us, this can only affect OUR solar system!
Another aforementioned reason is: A supervolcano. Although the supervolcano will reign massive destruction, it will only affect the U.S and possibly some marine life off the coasts. Who knows, Canada might be screwed as well.
The explosion will pretty much cover the entire U.S in ashes. Who thought having to carry Grandma's ashes were bad enough? (I'm of course referring to Yellowstone National Park's super volcano, which, through rumors, is deemed overdue).Ugh, so many previously mentioned reasons. Meteors. The Earth is a huge ball of...stuff. What are the odds that a meteor can crash into Earth and reign havoc? Pretty high, yes? There have been close encounters in the past, and some hits which were much too small to cause any substantial destruction.
Diseases. My source? Plague Inc. 'Nuff said.
The list goes on and on.
