1st Pixel Gun 3D Tournament! (Rules Thread)

Now that I have gathered the limit of participants, here are the rules:
  • No hacking or potions will be permitted whatsoever in this tournament. I prefer if users have a fair fight, therefore potions and/or hacks will not be allowed, as they give a player an unfair advantage against their opponent.
  • No wallbangers permitted. This includes the Crystal Crossbow, Archimage Dragon Wand, and Magic Bow.
  • No Ninja Tabi boots allowed. These boots are incredibly over-powered for matches, therefore you cannot wear them during the match.
I know there is a debate between whether or not the Railgun should be allowed in tournaments and such. Since the Prototype has a slower fire rate, and it is less likely to find your target as easily as with the other wallbangers, I will permit use of the Railgun.
  • Play with good sportsmanship. No swearing or unsportsmanlike conduct allowed. This also includes spawn-camping.
Tournament matches will have the following guidelines to server setup and the like:
  • All matches will be played in Deathmatch (since these are 1v1 face-offs).
  • All matches will require the standard 20-kill limit set, if the players wish for no mediator. If there is a mediator present, the kill limit will be set to 25, to avoid issues in killing the gamekeeper.
  • All matches will consist of 3 slots (in-case you want a gamekeeper/referee to moderate the match)
  • All matches will also take place on the voted map once voting is finished. No exceptions.
  • The winning amount of points for all matches will be 20. In the case of mediated matches, the score will still be 20, regardless.
  • All tournament servers must have the name "tourney". The password will be sent to participants through conversation, so as to avoid non-participating members from joining.
  • Gamekeepers and referees are optional to have in a server. If the opponents request a gamekeeper, they may contact me, Hercule, or any other user they deem as "worthy" of being a mediator for the match.
  • No repetetive suicides
    • Spectating is allowed for matches. However, there may only be a limit of 3 spectators (these will replace a gamekeeper, therefore the server player limit will be set to 5). All spectators must be isolated to the mountain point of the map. Should opponents wish for spectators to be present, this will also mean they cannot rocket jump or advance towards the big tree, or in the vicinity of the spectators, so as to avoid any accidental killings.
Gamekeepers/referees have the following guidelines:
  • Make sure the game is played by the rules mentioned.
  • Gamekeepers will also be a second witness to the final score, to avoid any mishaps or lying.
  • Gamekeepers must wear a bright, vibrant skin during the matches, so as to not be killed. If an opponent is also wearing a bright-colored skin, then please use a blank white skin.
  • Gamekeepers must also try and find a hard-to-reach vantage point, so as to avoid being killed during a match.

But won't the Railgun give an unfair advantage? If you keep meeting your enemy at close quarters (which often happens in 1v1 Deathmatches because the two players will always be trying to find each other) you can just fire and they're gone. Sure, they'll still damage you but you will probably get 2-3 kills for one death unless they manage to surprise you.

Well gentlemen, this is the first tournament organized, both for the game and by me.

As for the railgun and sniper rifles, it will honestly depend on the map chosen. If the map is Sky Islands persay, I'l permit long-range weaponry. If it's more close quarters like Shooting Range, then the Headhunter and Prototype will be excluded from the tournament.

Also if anyone wants to know, this is currently the match-up for the bracket tournament:

If there is enough complaints, I will shuffle the participant pairings around oncemore.

Hopefully it is a long ranged map.. i'm not to fond of the railgun but the Headhunter is hands down the best gun in my opinion.

The link doesn't work, maybe copy paste the bracket into the comments
Fixed the link, try it now. I recently moved the bracket to the Pixel Gun 3D Tournaments organization I created on Challonge, that's why it wasn't working.

how are they op.
You can double jump with the Tabi on, which grants players the higher ground advantage briefly, and since you move around so fast with them on, it makes it harder to get shot at. While it's perfect to use tactically, in tournaments I discourage the use of them, since they do provide an unfair advantage against opponents.

what if you both have them on.
I have considered that too, but given Sky Islands nature with providing a high ground advantage, I believe it best if no users are wearing Ninja Tabis, since once again, the high ground grants the players an advantage. Adding the Tabis in would only boost the opponents advantage he/she has on the high ground.
