A Petition For Change

Do you want Pixel Gun 3D Forums to change into a forum dedicated to other games/systems?

Hello, everyone,

For those who are new to this forum, I am GoldMan27, a revered and respected former Moderator of the Pixel Gun 3D Forums. To those who already know me, allow me to explain what this topic is for:

We've been noticing that although we keep getting new members, not many are staying. And furthermore, we've noticed for a while now that nearly none of the usual crowd here even plays PG3D anymore. We all simply come here due to our friendships/relationships with other users, as it's become a common ground for many of us. Some of us feel that the name and focus of this forum, "Pixel Gun 3D Forums", should be changed to better reflect what the core group has become: a diverse collection of casual/hardcore gamers that partake in video gaming on several different systems.

While the name for the forum can still be debated, we believe that it's time our forum was given a refresh, or a restart of sorts. By changing the name and focus of this forum to something in correlation with gaming on multiple systems. We believe that this would attract a wider, potentially more active memberbase. Furthermore, we are aware that such a drastic change in our community would require lots of work to reorganize all the boards and jumpstart a few widgets (the New Members and Who's Online ones for exmaple).

However, if we want this to happen, we need to show our support! If you want to petition this forum to become something more than simply Pixel Gun 3D Forums, please vote! If we can get enough votes, we just might be able to turn the tide and make this forum great again! (I know, Trump reference is obvious. :tongueout:)

So please, if you want this place to become a new haven for gamers/friends of all types, vote in the poll now! And better yet, feel free to spread the word to other, less-active forumers! It'd be nice to see some old faces again.

This forum has no future with this game. The suggestions are beating a dead horse and the influx of new members is slowing to a halt. The developers don't care and close to 99% of us have given up on it. I don't see why we shouldn't change this forum's focus.

i can't exactly add anything on the table without sounding repetitive, the amount of mindful players in the community has gone down A LOT since 2016, so yASS

I'm on board with this. I've noticed that this forums have come close to a halt. And mostly everyone on here hates Rilisofts guts, I think it'll be great to broaden the horizon.

Ok so in all seriousness I got a question
Will all PG3D-related threads be kept or will they be completely wiped, as if the forum is starting over again?

There would be no reason to wipe them as the idea is for this to become a "multi-game" community, which includes Pixel Gun 3D. Furthermore, wiping a few years of thread history is like wiping away years of precious memories. They are a reminder of our past, and I feel it is imperative they are kept.

I don't see any real reason for it, besides, the process will be much easier if it's simply a change in layout. Not to mention that it would waste the effort and time spent by a lot of members that spent time making so many threads and messages.
 
Yes, the entirety of this forum could just change.
We can turn this forum into a forum that describes any game, topics about movies or TV, trending videos and other of the more awesome stuff. We can include forum games and off-topic discussions.
 
With regards to the keeping/removal of PG3D threads/posts, I've seen a few forums with an archive sub-section where old threads just go so people can look back at them. I get the feeling an archive format would be the best route if we wish to preserve where we come from. Stuff in Off-Topic could most definitely stay (because it has no solid bearing on PG3D), whereas as some posts in the other boards (i.e., my rants), I'd prefer to be kept where they are, or at least archived if needed.

okay so like, the reason is havent been active is because this forum is dying help it please-
I support the idea of this place to be used to talk about other games and stuff too. Because it feels really friggin awkward to talk about other things somewhere created specifically for one thing-
Of course we should keep most the old things though, for the mem(e)ories, y'know?
This place would be much more happy and active if we kick out PG3D, becauSE IT'S A PIECE OF-
(well, we could still talk about it occasionally, but we won't have to talk about it all the time)

Yeah, It's getting a bit ridiculous. I sometimes won't receive alerts for replies and notifications until 6 hours after a reply is made.

Its mainly because of Vash not really updating the forum that much or looking over them, again they're not exactly the most Active place!
But we all noticed the sudden decrease in ISEs, and its becase of Vash upgrading the forums software, hope this helps

Yeah. A lot of people (old members) on here don't even play this game anymore. Well, I don't. It's kinda hard for me to be on here discussing things about PG3D when I don't even play this game anymore. Or the fact that a lot of the members here can agree this game has gone downhill and has become a pay-2-win.
 
The forums don't feel like "home" to me anymore like they used to since their beginning, so I'd also be interested in a new concept of this place which puts great value on other interesting topics despite pg3d. (cough, cough)

I don't know why I come here over and over again, although I kill my account every time. Something keeps me here, like a curse... ='P

From me it's a yes. I'm in favour of this idea.
