Password game error

My friend and I try to play together but whenever he joins me through the friend list and plays, the match finishes and tells him he is in a password protected match and can get no coins or exp. This happens when I join him as well. Whomever is hosting the game gets coins and this does not appear because IT IS a public match. Please help me with this.

Funny, I'm a Level 12, joined a friend's server with him as Rank 13, and I got nothing.

I think it's just one of those things I guess. Perhaps to prevent your friend from gaining rewards in your server/match?

We played by joining each other cause we could not see each

others matches in team battles . But now we can see each other's battles so alls well.
