This Game Sucks.
Alright people, so I just though of an idea which I believe may make everyone in the PG community (casual, competitive, or otherwise) happy within future updates.

Now we all know that competitive play and skill started to slow down in 8.0.0 and the game killing 9.0.0. However I think this idea may just shut everyone up, and if Rilisoft actually implements this, maybe those who are fed up, will come back to PG3D. This mode is called:


Competition/Classic Mode.


Now this mode could have some things from the current updates, and stuff from the classics like 7.1.1 (there was no 7.3.0). The mode could have the competitive skilled fluidity of 7.1.1, but have the same structure as 9.1.0. Some things that can be involved with this mode are:

-The score limit (maybe use this with the time limit if anything.)

-Weapons and weapon balance

-Equipment (Maybe bring back all 5 potions for this mode, and the leave all the psycho mech based stuff in the normal multiplayer.)

-Armor (Maybe limit it to Iron or Gold for balance purposes.)


-Rewards: Instead of levels for this mode, we can have ranks ands tiers for this. If you are one of the best in your tier, or reached a new rank stage, you can get rewards based on how high or low you are.

Do you guys think this is a good idea? What are your ideas?

Great Idea, but this will take quite long to code...
also, people besides the forum/wiki communnity will barly play it, considering how much ppl have armor

A Classic Mode would definitely help ease the community's pain over having armor integrated into gameplay. However, more likely than not, Rilisoft would have to make a separate app along with buying more servers to handle the influx of new players that would join.
Nonetheless, it's not a bad idea. Heck, Rilisoft could also either add coin purchases or make both a free and "Pro" version (just like old times) so a bit more revenue could be made on the side for the development team.

While the idea is great, I gotta side with everyone else that this would take too long to implement.

Now an eSports mode...I'l make a discussion thread of it in the Developer's Corner.
 
Electronic Sports, basically MLG-style tournaments for video games, where the winners can actually get cash for playing a game and being victorious. It's very big in Europe and parts of Japan. North America has something similar named MLG, Major League Gaming (if you haven't heard of this even mentioned, you haven't been on the internet long enough).
 
Yes, i completely agree with competition mode but heres some stuff to change so that its easier to code:
-All items should be banned. Its a competitive mode. Players are supposed to be evenly strong, so no players should be able to use their own coins to get advantages over others. This can also prevent hackers from being op with infinite potions.
-Instead of balancing weapons, why not limit weapons to only primary, secondary and melee? All those weapons are already well balanced, and everyone would probably use explosives the whole game since armor is restricted.
-Instead of limiting to iron/gold armor, why not make players unable to use their helmet? The ruby chestplate itself gives 22 armor which is about the same as iron. Players can also use other hats like the crown, samurai helmet and stuff.
Since 1 win=1 gem probably wont be added, the ranks/tiers rewards should probably have gem rewards, or only gem rewards? So if you need gems, you can play competitive mode. If you need coins, you can play casual mode.
