I guess you're wondering why Pixel Gun has GEMS, HACKERS, RENTABLE WEAPONS and etc. Why have overpriced weapons, gear like TURRETS and all. Well, I have a theory about that. Although credit here goes to Minecraftian47 who posted this at the PG Wiki.

Since the 8.0.0 update, people have been complaining lately, about why Rilisoft has increased prices, added a new gem system, and let more hackers roam the servers with gear. The answer to this; since the Great Recession in global markets around the world, Russia's current financial crisis has caused the Russian ruble to decline in price by other foriegn countries, causing a debt. The debt had caused many Russian companies (including Rilisoft because it is based in Moscow, Russia) to pay the debt by increasing the cost of interest payment in dollars and/or other currencies.
Because of Rilisoft's increase of payment for the debt. They are forced to increase prices and incorporate a premium currency system, they hoped that will encourage users to buy the new currency and pay the increased prices, along with the new weapons, so they will have an increase of money to pay off the increased interest, in conclusion, Rilisoft needed more money so their company and the game will survive the ongoing financial crisis.

This thread has been created in hope to answer the questions about the changes in the game, the current situations Rilisoft is facing right now, and also the hope of the community's support and understanding of the changes with Rilisoft.

I presume that all of this is right. Here's a poll to what you guys think. If this IS true, then I hope that this gets resolved soon, since this is a great game after all.
 
I think this is true, but I voted ' Yes'. I Googled about the Great Recession In Russia and it really does exist! Financial crisis is definitely an explainable reason of why PG is like this now.
 
I think someone has finally solved the mystery here... great theory even if it came from another person.
 
This is true. If Russia is suffering the financial crisis, Rilisoft has to be without a doubt. My hope is the crisis ends soon so that the game can be what we loved back then.

I've already made my ideas on this clear in goldmans thread on this, though I haven't yet received any replies. I thought I'd check out these 'sources' that supposedly confirmed this theory. All I see are Wikipedia pages that confirm that Russia has experienced a recession and a page that confirms that rilisoft is based in Russia, yet neither page acknowledges the other or draws the conclusion that you (or minecraftian) have drawn. There is no evidence to support what you are stating so please don't suggest that it is anything but a distant possibility. I'd invite any discussion by anyone who questions my view of this matter.
 
Well, if this is really true, then why didnt rilisoft tell us, instead of acting like nothing happened and slowly turning pixel gun into a 'p2w' game? If they told us, im pretty sure many of us would be more considerate and not complain about rilisoft 'ruining' the game.
 
I am sure it's true, even those greedy Chinese app developer won't use such a way to express their thirst for money.
Russia might have suffered financial problem.
