Why were guns removed that weren't op?

Some weapons were removed that weren't over powered like the cherry bomb, state defender, elephant hunter, etc. I'm wondering if this is just a glitch on my device or if they were actually removed. Also, if they were removed, is it possible to still get them when someone that still has it, kills you, which gives you the option to buy it?

None of those were removed. As far as I know the only removed weapons are-

Powerful Gift (replaced with steam revolver)

Deadly Candy (replaced with Steam Power)

Cactus Sword (copyright issues with Terraria?)

Flower Power (was a screw up, I think we can all agree on that)

Imma keep on listing the removed ones and.. Cherry Bomb (Listed already)

I will test that when I get my devices connecting to eachother again.

I just tested it, it works (: I just got my self a flower power
 
Oh my...i just checked the shop and the missile launcher and state defender were gone. (the two guns I don't own that were removed)

Why would Rilisoft do this? The Elephant Hunter had just got a upgrade, why was that removed?
 
Well, they could at least make them seasonal guns instead of year round. Like Solar Ray Cannon and similar weapons in the summer.

Slightly off-topic (sorry >~<)
If you can buy these weapons when someone kills you with them, is it possible to get the weapons removed in older updates? E.g. Battle Shovel, Mega Destroyer, etc.?

You can only buy Tier 1 Weapons(Weapons with no upgrades) and then upgrade them manually. So unless you know someone who has a Tier 1 Mega Destroyer you aren't getting it.
