How do they know what cloud save belongs to which device or player?

Sorry if this has been asked already, excuse my ignorance, but how the fawke is progress saved? I just deleted and reinstalled the app and BOOM, my stuff and purchases are there :D Dont get me wrong, I love it. But once again I need a bit clarification on this subject. Thanks in advance.
