FAQ For Thunder Jumping

So I've mentioned Thunder Jumping a lot, but nobody knows what the heck it is. Since I can't record a video of it, I'll just post what I've said about it on the forums. Maybe this'll give you insight to how thunder jumping works.

An answer I put on someone's post on my profile page.
"Thunder Jumping is a tactic I invented for Pixel Gun that works very well. It involves gravity jumping with the Anti-Gravity Blaster and then landing on/close to them so you can pick them off with the Chain Thunderbolt. It's pretty hard to master, but it's very effective!"

A regular thunder jumper loadout that I messaged to a person who was interesting in learning how to thunder jump.
"Well, this is my personal loadout, and I'll describe everything in detail.
Accessories
  • Head: Crown
The crown slightly increases the power of the Chain Thunderbolt, and cuts the damage taken if you incorrectly jump.
  • Cape: Elite Miner's Cape
The cape makes it so you jump just high enough to clear the Anti-Gravity Blaster's damaging splash, and still be close enough to the explosion to be pushed upwards.
  • Boots: Ninja Tabi
This a great tool, especially when it's paired with the Elite Miner's Cape. You can use the first jump to blast yourself into the air, and then use the second jump while in midair to reach high places, or to cover more distance without being fired at.
Weapons:
  • Primary: Rambo's Rifle (or the State Defender in the new update)
The Rambo's Rifle is a good close range weapon. Use your primary when your enemies are backing away from you and you can't reach them with your Chain Thunderbolt. It's also good for taking care of any snipers.
  • Secondary: Deadly Viper/Amanita
I personally prefer the Deadly Viper because it can kill people extremely quickly assuming you can pull off many headshots. The Amanita is nice also because it has a very high mobility.
  • Melee: Any
Not getting into this, because I don't like melee weapons.
  • Special: Chain Thunderbolt
Your staple weapon as a Thunder Jumper. Use it on your enemies at close range to completely obliterate them. If you need to reload, just do a reload cancel by switching to another weapon and then switching back while in your reload animation. This will instantly refill your clip.
  • Premium: Anti-Gravity Blaster
Another weapon a Thunder Jumper should always have. Use this to jump into the air, and then fall on an enemy and zap them with the Chain Thunderbolt. This weapon is also good for distracting snipers, scattering/disorienting players, and also killing as you only need 2 hits to take somebody out. It's also a good way to take out glitchers/campers as the splash damage will go through the wall."

Personal thoughts/story/description and stuff from this thread: "The "Thunder Jumper": Few have actually seen one in person, and even fewer have survived to tell the tale. These aptly named "Thunder Jumpers" are unstoppable forces of nature, able to jump great heights with their Anti-Gravity Blasters and drop down on their enemies in an electric fury via the Chain Thunderbolt. They are fast, smart, and thoroughly unpredictable. Eyewitness accounts report that even one Thunder Jumper can clear out an entire server with the destruction they cause. Through scattered rumors, it is said that a mysterious woman is the leader of these Thunder Jumpers.

If you do ever meet a Thunder Jumper, don't fight them unless you know you can secure a victory."

That should describe a thunder jumper. I won't go into specifics about my tactics (some have to be kept a secret so people won't counter them), I hope this clears up any questions you have!

This thread could save you a lot of energy, battery, and internet since people keep asking what a thunder jumper is and you keep answering them.

Well now I know just how efficient and deadly this tactic can be. For the longest time I had no idea you used the AGB (which I hate when I play multiplayer), however if I start trying this I might start using the AGB more frequently.

Thanks for putting up the FAQ, Brooke! If this gets more recognition I might stick it to the top of the board.

Due to fact that I'm incredibly accurate with the snipers, shooting you guys out of the sky has become a very viable way of getting kills. I guess you could call players that do this "Jumper Stumpers"
Jumper stumpers... I LIKE IT

Crate a clan Irish that targets the thunder jumpers!
Well I don't play on android, so it's not a feature yet. I will as soon as we get the clan update. I'm still surprised by the amount of incompetent Thunder jumpers that think it's as easy as it sounds.

Well, most are bad because I haven't really taught anyone how to do it.
The players who do try and thunder jump are just trying to imitate it. :pensive:
There's a lot of subtle lines and tactics to thunder jumping, but there are way too many to fit in one post.
All that I can say is, if you want to see it done right, you'll have to face me.

I'll be happy to take you on sometime. I actually faced a Thunder Jumper today, again not as experienced in Thunder Jumping. Too bad I was on Team Battle and he could just focus the rest of my team mates who are almost always inexperienced.

Yeah, I can't wait untill IOS gets the clan update. We could post events on the forums, create a locked server and have a Thunder Jumper vs. Jumper Stumper showdown. I wish that this game had a spectate feature in Team battle, that wouldn't take up any extra player slots, like it does in survival games.

Heh, I actually made a Thunder Jumper clan in the clan system! The only thing is, it has only one member (guess who). Still, it'd be interesting to see what tactics you've made up! It'd be an epic showdown between jumpers and stumpers!

Not that much to it except having an exceptionally good aim and being able to run and gun. Seriously though: it seems nobody in this game knows what tracking aim is. It makes no-scoping one of the most viable things in the game. They all just stand there hoping that their bullets will magically connect to your body. This game doesn't have auto aim AKA built in aimbot.

Yeah, thunder jumping mostly exploits Pixel Gun's glitchy aiming system, and its hard to accurately to look up/down when you're using joystick controls.
