I found weapons I like to use hellraiser for long range and that electro for short sorry forget the name. Now I'm working on my armor do you think this is the way to go. I'm currently leveling a second toon on iOS and I'm level 18 with gold chest and iron 1up helmet. Any suggestions

get armor. Your load out of weapons is a great choice. Get the armor because none of the upgrades require gems
