what is cache?[SOLVED]

today when I tried to open the pixel gun app, something weird happened: the screen said RILISOFT but it never went loading. I waited a few minutes but still nothing happened. So I went to the app manager thing in settings and I saw a button called “clear cache” and I clicked it. After a few seconds I went back to the pixel gun app and it actually loaded! So my question is what is cache?

Basically, the cache is a manageable method for your RAM (Random Access Memory). Anything that isn't saved in an app, it goes to the memory cache, where it's temporarily stored, either until the device powers off, or when the cache is cleared. Once your device is off or the cache is cleared, all the items temporarily saved will be gone. My guess is you hadn't cleared it out or turned off your device in a long time, hence why you couldn't load up the first time, because your memory cache was full. By resetting it, it made the cache empty, allowing you to access the app.

Many people don't realize that it helps to turn off your device every so often or to clear the cache in your device, as if you leave it on for a long time, the cache builds and makes apps unable to access properly.
