It has to be because he updated pixel gun in his ipadmini and you didnt on your ipad3 so if you update it you might be able to play but am not sure.I tried playing a game with one of my friends on PG3D, but didn't work. He used an iPad mini while I used my iPad 3. Somehow, my iPod 4 works just fine when I try to join his game. I have absolutely no idea why this happened. I've played a Multiplayer match with him before, using our same devices, and I could join no problem on my iPad 3. I hope it's just a bug and will be fixed soon!
yep, check the version of PG3D on both devices. It must the same to play online. Before 8.0.0 all the versions could be connected with one another, but there were too much new content in last version.
