Why are there so many people spamming Prototype in the game?

Recently, I've been seeing a lot of people in the game who only, and I mean ONLY use Prototype as their main weapon. No, that's it, just Prototype. Honestly, I don't know what's so good about it and why I can even see someone at a small level 6 using it. Can someone explain why it's so popular considering there's other good weapons to outclass it as well?

Mostly because you can shoot through walls, you can kill them in one shot, and they see people kill them with it, so they buy the gun too.

Though, I don't like the gun, it's way too OP.

Surprisingly enough, I've actually only encountered ONE server where somebody was using it.......... And even then that's when I decided to go on a dating server to troll.....

Why? I don't see any reason for you to get all that criticism just for asking a simple question about PSR's popularity.

Since PSR-1 it's the most damageful weapon , 20 Hearts DMG (head) (20 hearts with armor i meant) 18 on chest , plus , usually the people follow the mass so , like for example , you see plus people using a weapon it means that's a good weapon (usually it's what the newbies think )
