Account System

After playing some other games a couple of times I noticed that everyone has some sort of account system. So why doesn't rilisoft? You could access your account on other devices and it saves your progress [on your account].
Another upside to a new account system is that you could SEARCH for friends with their names rather than going into a game to do it [as I suggested in my earlier thread]. It's just an idea, at least it's better than useless weapons for every update.

This is a really helpful idea. In every update I lose most of my personal progress and it is really annoying, and this idea could fix that. It would also fix another annoying bug where the friends list disappears.

Welcome to my world.

I've been saying this for ages. It would help so much since players could actually access their profile from another device, and they could accurately add friends this way too.

Then people's user names have to be permanent and have simple fonts. Right?
nah every time you change your name and someone searches you by the old one a message would pop up saying this user changed his name blah blah blah but the simple fonts will be a problem because some might not know how to make the wierd symbols

i agree so much because if your device doesnt support pg anymore then you wont have to restart from the beggining.BTW if this gets added wont you have to restart from the beggining?

Maybe you don't have to type the EXACT name of the player you are trying to friend. EX. If you want to add a guy named xXRandomGuyXx then you could just type RandomGuy and find him on the list of people who have that similar name.

I actually managed to connect my account to Google play games, and this allowed me to retrieve all of my data when I had to factory restart my phone. Although I think this might be limited to android users, but I don't know.

It is.

Currently for iOS, what you have to do is backup your iDevice, reset it, and then install the backup if I recall. It would be far more easier though if such gaming profile data was indeed stored on RiliSoft's servers, as then they could make an account system.

Yes I totally agree. with a built in account system, it would be much easier. I was just sharing my work-around.

I hate backing up my IOS to ICloud and Apple's unreliable crap. This is an idea that should be taken into consideration, since it's really annoying to have to load your progress back from iCloud. @RiliSoft

A downside to this is being hacked. You're gonna lose coins and gems if someone hacks your account system.
Agreed, and this applies to alot of games. Minecraft... definitely one of them. And the same goes for Apple IDs, Microsoft Accounts, etc.

OK Who here bought Minecraft and wasn't aware that their account could be hacked? C'mon... If the same logic was applied to this freemium game, then the same thing would happen, just like what happened to Minecraft, yet that game still stands.

Yes, account systems do come with the risk of being hacked, however I'd rather be willing to take that risk than having to transfer over my data from an iCloud backup, JUST so I could play the game (if I even still played).

True, I was once hacked, and lost the game AND the hacker somehow stole my email.

As for the suggestion, I highly support this. It would definitely stop those pesky name stealer
