The depressed fat Freddy Fazbear
Hello

So as some of you may know: I have a steam account (if you didn't know that, my steam ID is mrawesome9002) and I currently have $15 on me. so I want to buy CS:GO, so to make sure it would run properly I used something that would tell you if you could run it or not. On my desktop, it said I need a better video card. So I decided to do the same test on my dad's laptop, which the video card was fine, but the CPU isn't!!! I don't know if this is inaccurate or not.

So for any of the people out there who are good with computers: would CS:GO work on any of my computers??? Here are the specs for both my desktop and my dad's laptop:

My desktop.

Processor: AMD Athlon II X2 255 with 3.10GHz
RAM: 4.00GB (3.75GB usable)
GPU: Nvidia GeForce 6150SE nForce 430
System type: 64-bit operating system.

My dad's laptop.
Processor: AMD A4-3320M APU with Radeon HD graphics (2.00GHz)
RAM: 6.00 (5.48GB usable)
System type: 64-bit operating system.

Would CS:GO work on either of these computers??? Thanks for any help.

CS:GO might work on your dad's laptop. Put the grapics on low, if it gets too laggy.

I agree with Oddy's conclusion. The problem here is, you have the best of both things, with the worst of both things.

An NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE is 7 years old, whereas an AMD A4-series APU is a very low-grade processor. In short, your processor can EASILY run the game (3.1GHz? You could run BF4 with that thing!), however the GPU on it is incredibly ancient. Your dad's laptop might be able to handle the game, but it'll run on lowest settings. Your computer can run it very well, though you'll need to run on lowest settings to play at 20FPS (that's assuming worst-case, if the card's in good condition you might get 25-30FPS on low settings).

VERY helpful, thanks

And just for reference: in windowed mode (which is faster for my PC) my desktop runs TF2 at about 20-40 FPS at the lowest settings.

Then you should be able to run CS:GO at 20-30FPS windowed on lowest settings, in that aspect.

That's good, I can handle 20-ish FPS. Mainly because when I play on a multiplayer server on minecraft on my desktop, I get about 20-30FPS. (With optifine, and in windowed mode)

Oh and on my dad's laptop, while on a minecraft multiplayer server, runs at about 40-60 FPS (with optifine, and full screen which is faster for the laptop)
