Just Another Q&A Thread

Why does it seem like sexual themes are harder and more problematic to manage and get used to than the blood/gore physical violence?

Could you perhaps define what you mean by "harder and more problematic to manage"?
I do not know...it is hard to describe it. Parents these days will probably be okay if their children were exposed to violence from media, but would make them close their eyes or something like that with s**ual themes.

Do you know that time about a mother who said something about removing the s** stuff specifically in Deadpool so her children can watch? I guess something like that...

Violence is for the mature, but s****l themes is for the higher level of mature, I guess.

I guess children will be okay playing Call of Duty all day long, but I guess a game like..."Agony" will...I do not know "scar" them or actually influence their character heavily or something...more so than violence in action games.

It might influence a child's perception of a woman, man, interc****e or something (and they are too young to hear that kind of terms)...the things it can influence on a child's mind probably sounds more horrid than what violence can do in my point of view.

Don't you get that feeling sometimes? and did I just answer my own question? Eh...I want to hear your thoughts too.

Well, now I see what you mean. In all fairness, both topics will change a person's perception of reality. I had a friend in middle school whom I was real good friends with, then when he started playing Call of Duty I noticed he was changing a fair bit, was a lot more aggressive and arrogant, cocky even at times.

Sexual themes I believe equally, if not more, change a person's perceptions on sexual nature as well. The key with both topics is to only show them when you believe they are mature enough. I was one of the few students who didn't find innuendos humorous until high school (my class had "the talk" near the end of middle school). Additionally, I watched CSI when I was real young, so I believe that was what caused me to be more mature than my fellow classmates (additionally, having a brother with high-frequency autism will force such maturity to arise at a young age).

Long story short, yes, both topics affect the human psyche. The only thing we can do is make sure those younger than us don't witness it until they are mature enough to handle such topics. As to answer your original question of why sexual material is harder to manage than violence is because violence is easier to discern than sexual nature, given the abundance of innuendos and such.

If you are referring to my paper regarding the Online Disinhibition Effect, it took a bit of good writing style to make it good. Plus, as with any sort of paper, if you have enough research done on it you can make it really good.

how often do boots give you blisters?
because they do that a lot to me -n-
I have orthopaedic insoles in mine that are custom-fitted, so for me it happens very rarely, and even then only if I've been on my feet for an extended period of time.

Who is the most underrated Mathematician in your opinion?
If you mean a famous one, then let me say math in general isn't my strong suit.

For the sake of an answer though, I'd say my best friend is. The guy is real good with numbers, and is currently in 2nd year of university in his accounting program.

What are your current plans once you graduate college?
Well the plan is to decide what I want to go to college for first. As for once I graduate, buying a car if I don't already have one then, and going straight to whatever it is I went to college for. :tongueout:
