Tesla Generator?

Hello all,
Sorry for the stupid question...but how would one go about attempting to make their newly acquired Tesla Generator work? I have attempted to utilize it on several occasions in Multiplayer, Survival, and Campaign, but it never seems to do any damage...

A tesla generator is like a taser where the police use it on criminals in order to make them stop moving.
Also I find the scope quite useless due to the fact that it's a close range weapon.

Funny you say that. I recall that you fly on people's faces to kill them with this weapon.

Nah Guerilla Rifle is better but still good weapon, it also hits through walls just to let you know.

Its an extremely close ranged weapon. Its reach is slightly higher than a melee weapon.
