Sniping Tips

Vulpes

You lost the game.
Hai, as you can see by the title, i need some help on how to become better with the weapons from the 5th category. It somehow makes me jealous on how other players can fast fire with any sniper weapon and still hit people, or i miss someone who's standing still and that same person kills me.
I mostly use the Laser Crossbow, Prototype and Sunrise. All i'm askin' is how to improve my aim and the perfect control setup for that sort of thing.
Bye. And plez, help me.

Hopefully somebody replies with good tips. Cause I'm terrible at sniping too.

One way I like to kill people,is hiding or them not seeing me. Thats why I like using the laser crossbow or sunrise, cause they can't see my bullets and where they are coming from unlike the prototype. So in other words....I have one chance to kill my enemy before they spot me.

As B@tman stated, hiding is good. On most maps, though, there aren't many good hiding spots, although there are plenty of good sniping spots. Of course higher areas are recommended (for visibility & headshots) although ground-level places work well too if there is a flat straight that is frequented (paradise map). Really any somewhat hidden spot (even if youre visible & the spot is commonly overlooked thats okay) that has visibility of a frequented site will work.
Next, weaponry. You have 3 wonderful snipers listed. The visibility of the shots will matter less to you once you get better (as the laser crossbow & prototype are both OHKO head shots). Zoom is a big aspect on snipers. 10X zoom is very, very focused, leading to little range in what you can fire at (especially since around the scope is blacked out on most guns), although working primarily with the sunrise ive found its not too bad. If theres no clearly visible enemies I scan the area till I see movement, use the scope and fire on em. If it is a populated area I stay scoped and move it around a bit till I see an enemy, kill, move scoped area, kill, repeat. I'm not too experienced with 8X zoom although I'm sure its similar. I'd actually prefer 8X to 10X on the sunrise but thats beside the point. Lastly, (as 2X zoom isn't too good for sniping unless youre using proton pistol) 4X zoom is surprisingly good for sniping. The guns either have the scope outline, or just the crosshairs, with wonderful surrounding visibility. Although your target will be a bit smaller, this is good for multiple targets because you can track their movement as well.
Next is firing style. It easy to waste ammo with the sunrise (especially on a bad day), but I don't recommend holding the fire button for extended periods (longer than 6 shots on sunrise, unless youre super determined, and probably 3 with the laser crossbow, and not at all with the prototype) UNLESS youre using your rapid firing primary with a scope as a sniper, but even then burst shots sometimes work better. I do recommend putting on the second firing button, but put it far enough away from the movement "stick" so you don't accidentally mess up your shot. Also, dont use your sniper as a primary (as some do) until you get super familiar & comfortable with your sniper. Now, usually I get a few kills in before I move sniping spots, unless I kill another sniper I can tell is going to take revenge (you get a feel for it lol). But switching positions is VERY important, and the frequency of that depends on each player. Lastly, your other weapons may correspond. I have 3 scoped weapons to snipe with, a spray and pray weapon, area damage (so I'm covered for a lot of situations), and my fire orb. This melee allows me to hurt an enemy without turning around if they sneak up on me while I'm sniping, which has happened numerous times. It also allows me to get from place to place quickly, switching spots and evading other snipers. The sniping cape is also helpful for reload time & headshot damage (ALWAYS go for head shots)! I hope I helped, and as always, practice makes perfect!!

EDIT: Please dont use your possibly new found skills to spawn kill!!

It's in fact quite hard to tell someone how to get better at something through only the use of words. I advise that you should go and test out your level of comfort on your suited fighting range between you and your enemy, as this differs between everyone. Some people prefer long, and some prefer up close and personal.

But remember that in the end there will never be a consistent best method, as everything is situational. Just rack up your experience in as many scenarios as possible and you'll get better ^~^

Becoming a good sniper is hard. Even those who are very good at it have bad days and sometimes you might even have to change your style but all it takes is practising. Although, here are some tips from personal experiences:

•if you are not very good at sniping dont play maps which have lots of open areas, play maps which have corridors or paths so its easier to hit your enemy. Maps like School or Outdoor pool are very good at this. However dont expose yourself too much because this advantage can also work against you.

•Equip yourself good. You might find some objects might help you to become a better sniper. You have to be fast so id tell you to use the King's crown or the Great Samurais helmet. This will make you go faster and take a better opportunity to hit your enemy. Also try wearing the snipers cape since it makes your reloading faster and increases the damage of your shots.

•Sensibility is key. Sensibility basically means how fast the camera moves when you try to look at something. Good snipers have their sensibility as high as possible because they have to be fast to hit their enemies. This can be graduated when you go to settings. You might feel weird at first but i garantee it will give you more opportunitties to hit your enemies and also to escape from them.

•Fast shotting rate. Its not a secret that sometimes you might see a guy with fancy names and you will see them shotting with their snipers as if they were a rifle or a machine gun. Well it has a trick. There is a way to shot faster which is perfect if you miss one shot with your sniper so dont give up! All you got to do is as soon as you shot change your weapon to the closest cage weapon and then back to the snipers cage weapon and shot again. This might take you lots of practice because sometimes you might not press properlly and will not succeed but you can change the size of all your playing buttons in your settings so I recommend you to make the jumping, shotting, moving and weapons cage as big as possible so you have less chance to fail. (There is also a faster way of shotting but its almost impossible to move while you do this so I wont write it down)

•Upgrade your sniping gun to its maximum level. Obviously this will cause more damage and even if you dont hit your enemies head at least you can leave a big damage ;)

•If you dont feel comfortable with your normal sniper Ill recommend you to use either: Prototype, Dater Hater, Laser Crossbow or Space rifle. All these in their top upgrade level are very powerful, but you also have to take in account the armour strength your enemy is wearing.

•Lastly, if snipping dont get to close to your enemies it might be a bit hard sometimes and you are exposing yourself, use a reasonable distance, not to close or far to achive better results. Also avoid using the "magnifying eye glass" to see your enemies closer, its really pointless unless the person is extremely far away and not moving at all.

•To finish these tips, Ill recommend you to make private servers with your friends and fight 1v1 only using snipers so you can practice and become a pro at it .

Hope my tips helped you ;3

You can also try the SFR, it cost gems but i personally think that it is the best sniper out there. A lot of those i fight is running around with boots and storm hammer and they are really hard to hit with one shot.

Prototype is a good weapon. Personally I think weapons that can go through walls are the best in the sniping only map . Anti-Hero rifle, prototype , and laser bow? Those three are the best for me .

Now I havent really used laser bow yet so I'll talk about the other two . First of all , Anti hero and prototypes are late shooters , especially prototypes , whenever you press the shoot button , the laser comes out after 0.50 seconds (my estimation ) , I dont really know about Antihero , I think about 0.20?

One of the keys of how pro snipers move fast all around and still hit people is their prediction

They predict where the enemy will move . The best predictors can kill someone they can't see like for example the enemy is walking at constant speed from left to right behind the big barn house (in sniping map) , they can predict where they are walking .

Now even though all of that , they still make mistakes.

Their key to defense , is to move and never stop . Jump , go right , go left , double jump , whatever . Dont move the same way you've done before , cause if you do , pros can predict where you'll move and shoot you.

You know when I said that Anti rifle an prototypes are delayed shooters? Well owners of those guns use their instinct to predict when to shoot (this applies to when You're constantly moving or when your enemy is constanly moving)

Your brain does the calculation , yeah being how good you are at sniping is also determined by your IQ .
Cause if you dont have a good IQ then you shouldn't probably move around and try to kill people .

Also pro snipers use boots that would make them able to jump two times and increase jump height . Wear the berserker boots and the demolition mask.

-------
It took me time myself to get those technique . You need to have experience and practice in order to get at least good of that technique , so don't stop using that technique whatever happens , if you miss constantly or get shot constantly , just keep doing it and eventually you'll get good at it ...

Pros always copy a skill that will take advantage of other players , lol I started using that technique back 2 years ago when I was a good sniper but not pro and I was battling this pro , I got pissed off that I cant hit him and he can hit me , by the time he killed me for the second time , I copied him , and then.... I got killed again and again , so I was saying it took me time to get pro of that technique . I didnt stop using it because I knew if I master it then I'll be unstoppable unless you meet another pro .

Go go go
