What's the point of people following you? Cause I got people following me yet I don't know what it's supposed to do?

When you follow them it gives you an alerts telling you threads they have replied to or posted.thats all I know there maybe more reasons...

If a person is following you, it means that he/she is either supporting you or being a friend with you (or maybe another form of GOOD relationship). Well, some people follow other people for no apparent reason though.

It because the person is cooler than why he get more followers like Duke and Glitterkit .. They join these before me .. and for once i agree with B@tman .. Following should get more point to earn trophy

Titanium's statement pretty much sums it up perfectly.

People follow other people out of respect/being friendly, and sometimes do it so they can see if people that they are following are online (you'll notice the profile pics faster than the names I assure you). Not too sure about the above statement of seeing friends reply to posts/threads, but it most likely is there. I just have it unchecked for me, otherwise I'd be spammed with email alerts about people who've posted/replied on the forum.
