Hello,I've been noticing a lot of Armor topics here lately about different opinions on them.Well instead of just making several threads on armor how about we just make one armor discussion thread?Talk away.

my opinion on armor is that they should have a little bit of nerfing to it and also add some cons.like for Example:
Wooden Armor: protection 3-4,mobility 10(or up)
Diamond armor: protection 8-9,mobility 3-4
Do u get by what I mean?instead of all pros make cons.The guns of pg3d also has this system,so why not armor?I think it would make the game more fair.
 
The cons idea is really good. Armor should have stuff like mobility penalties or certain vulnerabilities (ex. +10% received explosion damage).
 
Now one thing instead is that we should only have one tier of armour that should have the same protection value as wooden tier 3. The catch to severly nerfing armour is that we can add attribtes to armour with coins or gems (eg, blast resistence, bullet protection, laser protection). Now i would see this as balanced and also quite awesome (to balence it out, you cant have multiple attributes on a item) you should also add a option to the poll as mechanics reworked

If you played version 7.3.0 you would know that it took forever to level up. And when you did level up you would get 600+ coins. And there were 13 levels. That's why I have so much coins and could buy armor and every gun. But the people nowadays don't get nearly as much coins as i did back in 7.3.0.
That's the problem. We need to go back in the time of 7.3.0
That will fix the armor problem
 
I like this, decreased mobility and accuracy, because well. You try aiming with a giant clunk of metal on you.

I rarely need to aim cause the predator is a spread shot. I point in your general direction and your a goner

I'd love a combination of Curiosity and Ruby's ideas. Having armor penetration attributes on weapons and other gear would offer more customization on your set, and likely more balance.
 
Form the last time, all of your question may be wrong or right, but here is the answer, Rilisoft fixed stats for weapons and now released powerful weapons that could kill easily, if we don't have armor released the update, then everyone will quitted playing it until they removed OP weapons or add armor system in it, and yes we used to have it before armor was released. So that's the difference between of OP weapon and Armor, if you have Ruby a Armor, you won't be kill easily. Unless if there is weakness spot cover by it, such as predators, I heard this from someone that this weapon can easily but took long to kill Ruby armor.
 
I'd suggest you all buy armors first, if you're going against players with Laser Minigun and other powerful weapons in-game!

Eh,I prefer using my armor(which is gold up1,I totally didn't mean to upgrade it.The 'Unequiped' and 'upgrade' button are so darn close together! :mad: )as a last resort.I really only use armor in survival.

I just run away when someone has full ruby
 
Im not really into the idea of lower mobility with armor although that makes sense but this is my opinion.
Max armor:30 instead of 50
Wood:1-3
Iron:4-6
Gold:7-9
Crystal:10-12
Ruby:13-15
I think 30 armor is the perfect amount because snipers can still 1 shot you and rifles take the same time to kill you compared to last time. So basically having armor now is like having no armor last time because all the guns are much stronger now.
 
Ok,the lower mobility was just an example of how to add cons to the armor.But different armor should have different gun type weaknesses and strengths.Like for example:
Wooden armor should be weak to weapons related to fire,like the Dragon breath.And strong against maybe the Freeze Ray.Should have a mobility rating of 10 or so.And protection of 3 or so.
Remember theses are just examples so you guys can see what I mean.
 
Well, if you guys like the idea of lower mobility for stronger armor, we should also add in weaker armor with higher mobility. So its like heavy and light armor. The heavy armor is the armor now (50 armor) with reduces mobility (-20 total mobility) and the light armor is armor with reduced armor points (30 armor) but has higher mobility (+20 total mobility)
This will make sure that players such as myself who mostly rely on speed to fight wont be disadvantaged as higher level players NEED to have armor or they will get 1 shot by everything, so they cant just wear wood armor just because they will move fast. This also makes players who wants to be tanky has high armor but reduced speed.
So basically there will be 2 types of armor, with each of them requiring them to be upgraded to ruby tier. Players who bought armor previously will be refunded so that they can choose to be tanky or speedy.
So for the light ruby armor, it will have only 30 armor but +20 total mobility.
For the heavy ruby armor, it will have 50 armor but -20 total mobility.

That is what I meant. Wooden armor has higher mobility than ruby armor. Except Wooden armor has less protection than Ruby or other armor too. There should be also be like make a certain armor stronger and weaker against a different types of gun. For example, Wooden armor would be weak against fire like weapons and stronger against ice like weapons.
