I've seen this trend for a while now but never really understood it. When someone makes a private match and titles it "School w/ Johnny" for example, is that some sort of rp or something?

Most likely, yes, probably an RP and potentially a dating map
 
Tip: join those servers and pretend you're playing along, then shoot at everyone at the last 10-20 seconds of the count-down. I've gotten most of my coins(when I used to play) by doing this.
 
Yep, another form of roleplay in PG. This trend is not new, it has existed for almost 2 years now.
In my PG3D school experience, CoolBoy777 literally thought me and other classmates how to date in this game.
Started shooting up that class with a Mines Launcher the moment I realized he's teaching that and left the server. Never went to another school RP server after that.
Ok ok let me admit it. I've been in the school trend, but it bores me to death the last time I played schooling the legit way. Shooting for coins is WAY better.
 
It's either... Rp, dating... Or... Netflix and chillin'. But there's no Netflix. Just chilling. On some unfortunate guy's desk.
 
Lmao just kill everyone with a OP weapon. Bad thing is that most of the OP players hang around those servers, which can provide quite some challenge.
